The Bird Flies the Coop

NY to Boston in a little over 8 1/2 hours, a new Smith family record. A journey of 500 hundred miles starts with my Dad saying he knows a short cut. Luckily it was 7:00 in the morning, so short cut or not, no ones was around to delay our mission to grab Ms. Ally for the BU.

We're here, 3 hours and 40 minutes, including a pit stop in God knows where for a quick breakfast, so quick that when we ordered eggs, that's all we got, no toast, no home fries, nothing, just eggs. Strangest thing I've ever seen, other than the bologna incident of 2002.

There she is, 2 semesters, 3,567 cups of coffee, one sorority rush, a beer or two (riiiight), and countless papers. She emerges one step closer to the enviable release into the real world, but for now her summer digs will suffice(mom's house).

Goodbye dorms, and the little pad they call a mattress.

So how much of this crap should I take home, Dave?

A view from the nest?

Quick picture for sentimental value.

When did Ally get taller than me? Coffee stuns your grow?

3 1/2 hours of sleep and looks who's back at home. Okay, Dave, the picture thing is getting old, I feel sorry for your kids.

I think I'll have a Snapple after the long drive home. We were so busy trying to make record time, we didn't even stop to get drinks.
